Hello from 2 new members
“Hi ALL Just to introduce ourselves to everyone….
We are Nev and Trish (Seabury). We live at Croesaubach, Oswestry – and we have just rejoined the VVRC, after a gap of something like 12 years.
We are now back, having bought 2 new horses last year, and are eager to get going again, with training and some competitions maybe.
The Club looks to have lots to offer, and we are keen to come along and try things out.
You may recognise my new horse “Duchess” – as VVRC member Sue (Jones) used to own her. I am now VERY proud to say that she is ALL MINE. However, after owning and riding my 14.3 hh 30 year old Arab mare, Tilly, for 23 years – only retiring her last year – it is a bit of a change to a 15.2hh coloured Cob X. They both are such different rides, including their size, shape, character and jumping style, so is taking some getting used to. But, saying that , I fell in love with Duchess as soon as I saw her – she was just what I was looking for. But don’t think I will be getting the same results from Duchess as Sue did – I’m certainly not as competent a rider as she is. At the same time, I just can’t thank her enough for the help and kindness she has given me since I bought “Duchess”. I hope to have loads of fun too, by bringing Duchess to the Club now.
Some long-term members may have remembered Nev in VVRC ridng his 16hh Roan mare – Katey – who is now also 30 yrs old, and retired at home. She is a bit of a character and was always well known, especially in Show Jumping classes.
Nev’s new horse “Lottie” is a dream for him too. She used to hunt with the Wynnstay, so has a real keen jump in her – a bit of a jumping machine, and is very strong. Definitely a man’s horse, I would say. She is skewbald, 16hh, and is TB x Cob x Arab. An absolute darling – which Duchess loves to bits too. The horses are about the same age – 12 yrs old, which is great, and they do get on real well. We are so lucky ! Look forward to seeing everyone very soon.
Trish and Nev. xx
